Description
Animal damage seems to happen quietly, without anyone noticing. You could be living in your house for years and never notice that an animal has infested it. A raccoon may have made a hole in the attic they will scratch or chew until they've made a hole through the building material or bees have made a nest in a wall finding a small hole to get through. Rodents could infiltrate and cause damage by chewing insulation of the homes wiring or merely bringing with them parasites and disease from their droppings that they leave behind.
Symptoms
The signs of an infestation of animals or insects are usually very obvious. There may be a whole in the siding or break in the soffit under the eave. Sometimes it's the odor that is left behind from the animal or just noticing bees flying to and from the home. There are times when creatures have died in a home in the odor is unbearable and must be removed.
Causes
There may be a reason why pests will invade a home. Usually it might be to get out of the cold or just looking for food and shelter. Most times it is safer to live in your home than it is in the wild out of the reach of other predators.
Procedure / Solutions
After getting rid of the animals, the main focus is to secure the area and make it impossible for any animal to gain access again. Once this is completed the repairs must be made to the damage that was done. Whether it's replacing the siding, wiring, insulation or plastic piping the work will be done by a licensed professional. Safedry team members will decontaminate any areas that are affected with droppings, pheromones and urine. These are biohazardous areas that must be dealt with extra special care and attention.
Cost
The cost will depend upon the type of infestation, the amount of damage that was caused to either the external part of the house or any of the internal systems. And of course getting rid of the creatures and blocking their access point.
Tips / Prevention
If there is any question as to the possibility of the presence of asbestos call Safedry at 1-866-Safedry (1-866 -723-3379) immediately and we will dispatch an asbestos testing specialist for a precise and accurate evaluation.
