Wind damage to trees AL FERRER SEMINOLE COUNTY URBAN HORTICULTURIST The impact of hurricanes on trees varies from simple defoliation to broken branches, split branch crotches and trunks, leaning or falling trees. While no tree can be guaranteed to stand up to hurricane-force winds, there are some trees that are more resistant to wind than Wind Damage To Trees others. 

Therefore, selecting trees with resistance to wind damage seems to be a logical step to take when planning your landscape. Hikers attempting to exit the Reds Meadow Valley should also be aware of this closure and Wind Damage To Trees make alternative plans. 

The Forest Service is asking that the public cooperate and respect this necessary closure to ensure their safety, as well as the safety of the crews working in the area. Anyone entering the closed area may be issued a citation. The closure is in effect to allow completion of cleanup and Wind Damage To Trees repair work so that the area can be opened as quickly as possible for normal summer recreation activities.
