Animal Damage >> Animal Removal

Think about it, if you were an animal, where would you rather live, outdoors dealing with the elements, or indoors where it's nice, safe and warm. Animals outdoors are cute furry creatures, but indoors, they can be very destructive and downright dangerous. Houses that have endured Animal Removal, have had the insulation torn apart, the wiring chewed through, not to mention the siding or eave of the house destroyed upon entry. How do we rid ourselves of this Animal Removal problem.

  1. First we have to find out what kind of animal it is, how we usually realize that there is an animal living in the attic, is either we hear rustling sounds of something scampering above the ceiling. Go outside and look around the eave of the house, looking for some kind of a hole where the intrusion has taken place. Say that you spotted one, I know what you're thinking, if I just close off the hole, then my troubles will go away, like magic no more Animal Removal. Not so fast, what if the animal is still inside and can't get out, nothing worse than an animal dying in the attic. I'd like to tell you that animals are always more afraid of us than we are of them and normally that should be true. Having said that, with some caution, take a flashlight into your attic at different times of the day and night. Shine the light around looking for the glowing eyes of an animal depending how much stuff is in your attic, will depend on how many places an Animal Removal could hide.
  2. And there they are, a cute little family of raccoons, mama and a couple of babies. Now what do you do, can you safely catch these creatures by yourself or will you need help? If you have a lot of confidence and maybe have done this before, no problem, you set up your traps that can catch them alive, bait it and wait. If this is something that you've never tried before and you don't want it to end in disaster, then hiring a Animal Removal professional might be the wise choice. It might be one thing, if it was a squirrel or maybe a roof rat, a person might be able wait for the animal to leave the attic and then just close off the hole.
  3. After the critters are carefully removed and you're positive that there are no more, it's a good idea to clean up the area. Some of this can be rather difficult, because you want to make sure that all of the droppings and nesting material like shredded newspaper is removed. The droppings could be a health hazard and the shredded paper could be a fire damage hazard. Wearing a high-quality dust mask, sweep this debris into a garbage bag and seal it. Make a solution of 1 ounce of household bleach per pint of tap water in a spray bottle. Do not saturate the area, especially any insulation because it could ruin it and be careful not to spray any electrical wires for obvious reasons.
  4. After inspecting the Animal Removal to your house, determine the best way to make the repairs. If there has been a hole made in the eave or the fascia board the correct way to fix it would be to replace the boards. Sometimes that can be rather difficult and sometimes it doesn't matter what that area looks like and a small piece of plywood could be nailed over the hole. Make sure that you cover the hole to keep more animals from coming back in and causing more Animal Removal.
