Mold Remediation >> Crawlspace Drying

There are several reasons you would want to have Crawlspace Drying in your house. Mold can be caused for many different reasons, and you will find it in many different places in your home. The most common areas of the wet areas such as water heater, kitchen saying, bathroom sinks, near the pool area. And most anywhere that's wet or moist. Not all molds are easy to see.

  1. And the one that seems to be getting the most attention these days is the black Crawlspace Drying. There have been lots of articles written on black mold and health issues, so I'm not going to address that right now.As I'm in the building and construction industry, I see a lot of different people's homes. I see a lot of different places that are evident that are not the usual place. Mold can do a lot of damage to wooden drywall without causing the black discoloration. Such as a lot of times I will see where a window sill had been leaking or a patio door. And the Crawlspace Drying damage is done to the wood near the areas and it looks just like the word is cracking or deteriorating.
  2. This is not from the water damage so much as it is from the mold that grows in their eating away at the wood. And if there is carpeting in these areas I know from tearing up that carpeting that the mold grows underneath the padding in the carpeting. This mold is released into your house every time you vacuum your carpet. A lot of these molds are not harmful to the human body as we have an immune system that will FACTOR them out. However Crawlspace Drying is very tenacious and will find other wet areas in order to survive. I personally have had mold spore growing in my lung.
  3. It was found because I had an x-ray done for a job. The doctor told me that the moisture content in the air was the cause of it. The also told me that it was nothing to worry about that nine out of the 10 people in his office waiting room had the same mold spores in their lungs. And unless I was allergic to it it would not be a problem. Mold can cause problems from sneezing and coughing allergic reactions itching eyes asthma and permanent lung damage. Crawlspace Drying does not have to be black in color to be present in our bodies. Mold spores are everywhere in nature, when they find moisture or water they grow into mold.
  4. They will even grow in your area conditioner around the coils and waste areas there. In some areas of the country people have what they call swamp coolers, which is basically a fan blowing overwater. These would breed mold really easily. I guess what I'm saying is that mold is everywhere and it's a part of our lives but we need to control the water areas which it lives in. So if you have a leaky pipes, water drips, windows that don't close tight during rainy season. These are areas you are going to want to look for mold related damage. At a later time we will discuss how to clean up Crawlspace Drying related issues.
