The solution will sometimes work for your Fire Damage clothing that might be bleached:  4-6 teaspoons tri-sodium phosphate, can be found at your local hardware store. 1 cup household chlorine bleach mixed with 1 gallon of warm tap water. Mix thoroughly, add your clothes, and then rinse with clean water, dry well. To remove mold and mildew, wash the fresh mold stain with disinfectant and water. Then rinse well and dry out in the sun. If the mold stain isn't gone, use lemon juice and salt, or a diluted mixture of regular household bleach.
  2. An applicable way to remove mold and Fire Damage from clothing is to thoroughly wash the fresh mold stain with detergent and warm water, rinse well, and then dry in the sun.  Cooking utensils, like your pots, pans, and flatware must be completely washed with mild detergent and water, rinsed and then polished with a fine-powdered cleanser. You should polish your copper and brass with a special polish, made of salt sprinkled on a slice of lemon, or salt sprinkled on a cloth soaked with white vinegar. 3. A fire-proof safe, that has a UL-rating for a minimum of 1 hour at 1700°F, is a very good asset. This safe will typically afford enough time for the firefighters to douse a blaze. You should be able to retrieve your safeguarded documents when it is considered safe. Don’t use any electrical appliances that have been subjected to water or steam until you have a service repairman check them out. Also, steam could remove the grease from some of the moving parts. If the Fire Damage department had to turn off your gas or power at some point of the fire, call the electric or Gas Company to return these utilities, please do not try to do this yourself.
  4. Most of the time a licensed plumber or electrician must make some repairs before your service can be Fire Damage. Wash your canned foods in mild detergent and water and do the same for your food in jars. If the labels should come off, make sure you write the contents on the can or jar items with a grease pencil.
