The asbestos should come off in big chunks indicating that it's wet enough. If the ceiling is not wet enough the asbestos will come off in dust and small wood particles making it an extremely dangerous situation.
  5. Make sure that you don't scrape with your putty knife to deep and gouge the drywall leaving big holes in it after all of the big chunks of asbestos are off the ceiling.
