Wind Damage >> Hurricane Damage

Tornadoes have been reported in early every state, and though they usually occur during spring and summer, they could occur any time of the year. While Hurricane Damage could occur at any time of the day or night, they are more likely to occur between 3:00 and 9:00 p.m. There are no areas immune to tornadoes; they have been seen in mountains and valleys, over deserts and swamps, from the Gulf Coast into Canada, in Hawaii and even in Alaska.

  1. Over 1,000 tornadoes are reported each year nationwide, and as our Hurricane Damage detection systems have improved, more are being reported every year. However, sometimes tornadoes may develop in areas in which no tornado watch or warning is currently in effect, so stay alert for quickly changing weather conditions. A tornado is a rapidly rotating column of wind extending from a thunderstorm to the Hurricane Damage terrain. The more violent tornadoes can often have rotating winds of 250 miles an hour or more. They are capable of causing extreme wind damage, including uprooting trees and well-made edifices, and turning normally harmless items into deadly missiles.
  2. More tornadoes are just a few dozen yards wide and usually only briefly touch down, but highly destructive violent tornadoes may carve out paths over a mile and a half wide and more than 50 miles long. Although violent tornadoes comprise only about 2 percent of all tornadoes, they are however, responsible for nearly 70 percent of tornado-related deaths. Hurricane straps (made from galvanized metal) help keep Hurricane Damage out of attached to the structure in high winds. These could be hard to place, so you might require a contractor for this task. Inquire the building office as to whether or not hurricane straps are needed or safe in the area.
  3. The outside structure, doors and windows are the protective cover of the house. If the cover is Hurricane Damage through a storm, wind damage could occur in the house and put pressure on the roof and structure, causing serious damage. For each dual door, at minimum one of the doors should be bound at both the top of the door frame and the floor with durable sliding bolts. Many bolts which are with dual doors, possibly, aren’t durable enough to outlast wind damage. The area hardware retailer could help you could select the proper bolts.
  4. Some door makers make reinforcing bolt packs made especially for those doors. When the garage door goes, wind damage could affect the house and knock out doors, windows, structure and the top. Inquire the building office for advice on what to do. Placing storm shutters is one of the more effective paths to protecting the house. Buy or make shutters for any vulnerable windows, glass areas, French doors, patio glass doors and skylights. There are plenty of types of created Hurricane Damage storm shutters out there made from wooden, aluminum or steel materials. You could also build storm shutters with 5/8-inch dense outside-grade plywood.
