Tell your local Water Removal construction supply retailer the size and number of openings you require to cover to decide how many sheets to buy. The expansion bolt shall penetrate the edge at the least 1 1/2 inches. For bigger windows, utilize 3/8 –inch expansion bolts that penetrate the edge at the least 1 ½ inches.
  2. The tools you will require are a circular or hand saw, a drill with the appropriately sized bits, hammers, and wrenches to fit the bolts. To be secure, use eye protections and labor gloves. Cut all of the Water Removal plywood to the measurements for every opening. Drill holes 2 1/2 inches from the outside edge of the plywood at every corner and at 12-inch intervals. Drill four holes in the middle vicinity of the plywood to relieve pressure during a typhoon. Spot the plywood over the opening and mark every orifice position on the outside edge. Drill holes with the appropriate size and type of bit for the anchors.
  3. Place the anchors, the Water Removal plywood, and the bolts to make certain they fit right. Mark every Water Removal shutter so you will know where it is to be placed and store them and the bolts in an accessible spot. If the opening is bigger than one sheet of plywood, you will require making shutters with 2x4 bracing. This bracing could be two 2x4s at the middle and bottom of the two sheets of plywood, evenly spaced, with the 2-inch side attached to the inside of the storm shutter.
  4. Attach the 2x4s to the outside of the storm shutter with 2-inch, 10-gauge wooden screws before placing the shutter.
