Five members of Congress were recognized this month by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for their exemplary work relating to fire service activities.Honored as NFPA Legislator of the Yearfor distinguished achievements from last year were Congressman Bob Etheridge of North Carolina; Congressman Edward Markey of Massachusetts; and How To Repair Fire And Water Damage Senator John McCain of Arizona. A member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for 12 years, he sponsored many bills related to fire safety. Bella then served two governors as state fire marshal.
