The Coalition for Fire-Safe Cigarettes, officially launched in March, includes fire service members; medical and public health practitioners; advocates for consumers, the elderly,How To Repair Smoke Damage From Fire  and people with disabilities; and others. 

Coalition members are committed to saving lives and preventing injuries by reducing the threat of cigarette-ignited fires. The Coalition has asked tobacco companies to start selling fire-safe cigarettes nationwide and is gathering support nationwide through an online petition, How To Repair Smoke Damage From Fire and is working to see fire-safe cigarette legislation passed in every state.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) presented three awards in fire and life safety today at its World Safety Conference & Exposition Dean K. Wilson, recipient of NFPA’s Standards Medal: The Standards Medal, the highest award given by the Standards Council, recognizes outstanding contributions to fire safety in the development of codes and How To Repair Smoke Damage From Fire standards.

Dean Wilson is currently with Hughes Associates and was previously affiliated with Industrial Risk Insurers for some 29 years. He is being honored for his contributions to the development of NFPA Codes and Standards for more than 28 years, How To Repair Smoke Damage From Fire and for an enduring commitment to the NFPA and the cause of fire safety worldwide. 

Throughout the years, Wilson has been a member of several NFPA technical committees and has served on the National Electrical Code's Panel 16. Fleming received his award at NFPA’s World Safety Conference & Exposition ® in Orlando this week.Named in honor of a man recognized for a long career in fire protection and his many years of dedication to NFPA, How To Repair Smoke Damage From Fire the award is a tribute to Lamb’s legacy of service that is a benchmark for all NFPA volunteers to strive for in the future. 

The Paul C. Lamb Award has only been given to 17 individuals since its inception in 1980. Fleming has spent all but two years of his career at the National Fire Sprinkler Association and has been involved with NFPA since 1975.
