Coalition members are committed to saving lives and preventing injuries by reducing the threat of cigarette-ignited fires. The Coalition has asked tobacco companies to start selling fire-safe cigarettes nationwide and is gathering support nationwide through an online petition, How To Repair Smoke Damage From Fire and is working to see fire-safe cigarette legislation passed in every state.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) presented three awards in fire and life safety today at its World Safety Conference & Exposition Dean K. Wilson, recipient of NFPA’s Standards Medal: The Standards Medal, the highest award given by the Standards Council, recognizes outstanding contributions to fire safety in the development of codes and How To Repair Smoke Damage From Fire standards.

Dean Wilson is currently with Hughes Associates and was previously affiliated with Industrial Risk Insurers for some 29 years.
