Debris Removal >> Flood Damage

There is no part of the country that has never been affected by flood and every year there has been a flood caused by some natural disaster like a tornado, hurricane, or a heavy thunderstorm. The amount of damage caused by a flood can be enormous, because a flood could cover such a large area. When there is so much water that it begins to make the rivers swell to the point of a flood that when the levee breaks it will cause Flood Damage.

  1. As the floodwaters rip through an area that is populated, the houses can be knocked off their foundation and can be easily destroyed. With the destruction of these houses it causes extensive Flood Damage that once the floodwaters recede crews of workers will have to come in and restore the area. The restoration will begin with the cleanup and this cleanup will require huge amounts of equipment like bulldozers and other debris moving machines such as front end loaders and dump trucks. Typically the bulldozers will push all the debris into a pile and the front end loaders will scoop up the debris and load it into the back of the dump trucks.
  2. The dump trucks will Flood Damage to the local landfill unless there is some other designated area that the debris is to be taken to. When an area is flooded the soil become so saturated that the trees will begin to topple because the roots will not be in firm ground and the force of the water could knock over a tree. This will cause such a demand for Flood Damage that there may be an area that trees will be taken to be cut down to size so they can be more manageable. This wood might be reused in the form of firewood, so your community may have a place they could be set aside for the wood to be dried out.
  3. If the flood is a result of heavy rains there have been many cases that the roofs will collapse from the weight of the rain, usually this happens on bigger buildings like retail stores and distribution centers. But when this does occur it results in a considerable amount of Flood Damage that must be dealt with. And there have been many cases when an area has been flooded, that the buildings that are caught up in the flood, the foundations have been damaged to the point where the building must come down.
  4. There are many problems associated with Flood Damage, many times the electric power poles will be knocked down causing a power outage in an entire area. In most cases the power company will not have the ability to react and have the power restored before a person's food will begin to spoil. Sometimes an area is flooded, the water might fill up a person's basement or even their house. After the floodwaters recede, the home will still need to be restored, there will be extensive drywall damage and sometimes all of the persons possessions will be destroyed.
